Our Brands

Three names, one factory.

Crolla’s, Soave’s and Jimmy Gelato. Three brands in the range, all made and packed at our Polmadie factory and delivered across Scotland on our own vans.

Crolla’s Est. 1895

Crolla’s

The family name, and the one on most of what we make. Original Italian ice cream, churned with fresh Scottish dairy in Polmadie, Glasgow, family run since 1895.

  • Parlour range, 4.75 litre Napoli trays for the scooping cabinet
  • Catering and bulk, soft serve, sorbet, vegan and dairy bulk
  • Retail, 500 ml tubs, spoon-in-the-lid and ice lollies
  • Crolla’s slush syrups, cookie dough and tray bakes
Soave’s

Soave’s

A Lanarkshire name with its own Italian century behind it. The Soaves came from Cassino, near Rome, and have been making ice cream in Coatbridge ever since, to a recipe that has not changed in seventy years.

  • 1914: the family emigrates from Cassino to Scotland
  • 1950s, “Uncle Angie” buys Muirhead Cafe
  • 1972, his nephew Eric Soave takes over and builds the factory the award-winning ice cream still comes out of today
  • February 2023, Soave’s joins the Crolla’s family, recipe intact
Half dairy
